Techfab Annual Decor
Concrete Design Competition
Want to show off your best work and maybe win a prize to boot? TechFab has announced a Call for Entries for the first annual TechFab/C-GRID Decor Concrete Design Competition.
TechFab is sponsoring the competition to showcase the best and brightest the decorative concrete industry has to offer. The objective is to design and create — using C-GRID reinforcement — an original concrete countertop, vanity, tabletop or architectural decor product suitable for use in residential or commercial applications.
C-GRID is a revolutionary high-strength carbon fiber epoxy grid structure that is stronger and lighter than steel by weight and that provides excellent crack control in concrete treatments.
Judging will be conducted in April 2005. The three judges selected for the 2005 competition are Bent Mikkelsen, publisher, Concrete Decor magazine; Michael Smith, founding partner, Equus Design Group; and Lauriel Leonard, Allied ASID, Dex Studios. Three winners will be announced, and honorable mentions will also be chosen. Most importantly, these designers will be showcased to the industry and recognition given for their creativity.
All entries must have been produced in 2004-2005. Submissions must be received no later than April 1, 2005.
TechFab LLC is headquartered in Anderson, S.C. Send entries to or request more information from John Carson, director of commercial development, at (864) 260-5781 or visit the TechFab Web site.
