Lafarge in North America

Low-income homes get concrete help from Lafarge
Lafarge partnered with Habitat for Humanity-New York City to provide cement for nine new multifamily residential buildings in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The low-income families who occupy the residences will be among the first New York City residents to live in homes built with insulated concrete forms.

Lafarge Habitat for HumanityLafarge donated 200 tons of cement to the Halsey Street homes. When ICFs are used in construction, hollow foam blocks snap together like Lego bricks and concrete is poured into the hollow center. The blocks remain in place to provide insulation. The resulting structures are strong, durable, fire-resistant and very energy-efficient.

Lafarge in North America is wholly owned by Lafarge S.A.
