New Lafarge joint venture
Lafarge has begun construction on a new joint-compound manufacturing facility adjacent to its Silver Grove, Ky. gypsum wallboard plant.
The fully automated production line will produce the complete range of Lafarge’s current ready-mixed joint-compound product offerings, including Rapid Coat, Classic Coat, Rapid Coat Mid-weight and Rapid Decobrands. It will also produce the family’s newest product, Rapid Coat Low Dust.
Construction has begun at the facility, and its first product is expected to ship by January 2009
