VersaFlex launches Polyurea University

VersaFlex Inc. has renamed their acclaimed polyurea training school to be called Polyurea University.

VersaFlex has been conducting classroom style and hands-on polyurea training schools for decades. Their acclaimed Houston Training Center is being renamed Polyurea University – Houston Campus. Another training facility has been added at the company’s corporate headquarters in Kansas City, Kan.

Dudley J. Primeaux II – PCS, CCI, the school’s Head Instructor and VersaFlex Incorporated have established the Polyurea University to deliver the highest standard of polyurea technical and application training. To date there are over eight (8) different polyurea training courses that include education and classes that teach the basics of polyurea materials and technology, hands on spraying techniques, equipment operation and maintenance, spray gun selection and maintenance, surface preparation, polyurea specifications, and inspections to name just a few.

When several of these classes are combined into a Polyurea Degree Track, students can now achieve a certified degree in several polyurea oriented fields of expertise.

There are now four (4) Polyurea Training Degrees, or course tracks:

  • Basic Polyurea Materials
  • Qualified Polyurea Apprentice
  • Qualified Polyurea Applicator
  • Qualified Polyurea Inspector

Each Polyurea University Degree contains its own set of individual polyurea courses. For example, the Basic Polyurea Materials Degree contains three separate polyurea classes titled:

  1. Polyurea Products – How to Choose the Right Formulation for the Job
  2. Polyurea Chemistry for Non Chemists
  3. The Fundamentals of Polyurea Technology

The Basic Polyurea Materials course is a 1.5 day classroom training program. When completed, individuals will be presented with a certificate of completion, and badge credentials for business cards, display on website, brochures, etc. Individual will also be given access to the Polyurea University Training Library, complete with training videos, white papers, and technical guides.

The second and most popular Polyurea Training Degree is called the "Qualified Polyurea Apprentice." The Basic Polyurea Materials course is a prerequisite and is required prior to attendance if the student is seeking the full degree. With just one more 2.5 day course, the "Spray Applicator" school, students can achieve "Qualified Polyurea Apprentice" status.

The "Qualified Polyurea Applicator Degree" and course load is more extensive, with hands-on spray technique, surface preparation, basic equipment usage, specification understanding and advanced equipment usage, all part of this one week course that yields the coveted and recognized "Qualified Polyurea Applicator" credentials.

The newest Polyurea Training Degree is called "Qualified Polyurea Inspector" and it covers courses and tracks that train all the specifics and knowledge to be a professional polyurea inspector. This Degree is the first of its kind that requires a 3rd Party Coatings Inspector Course Certification from the likes of SSPC and/or NACE.

In addition to all of the ongoing proprietary training resources that students and attendees receive, students and companies will also be provided with a full package of marketing and advertising services on Polyurea.com, the polyurea industry’s leading online information source and marketplace. "We want our students to be qualified professionals and steward the proper specifications, application and inspection of polyurea. Then we want to help them market their skills and qualifications to potential customers. Our deal with >Polyurea.com will do just that," says Dudley Primeaux.

The first course is already scheduled for January 28 – February 1, 2013 at the Houston Campus. Classes to be held are Polyurea Products, Fundamentals of Polyurea, and the Spray Applicator Course. The Qualified Polyurea Apprentice Degree will be awarded to all who successfully complete the full track.
