Concrete Countertop Solutions offers new Liqui-Crete System

Z Liqui-CreteConcrete Countertop Solutions Inc. has announced the debut of their Liqui-Crete System. This new system features a heavy-duty fiberglass mesh reinforcement held in place with the new Z Clip and a new highly flowable fiber fortified concrete add mixture called Z Liqui-Crete.

Z Liqui-Crete contains a proprietary blend of specially formulated additives that will transform a 60 pound bag of standard concrete sand mix into a high strength flowable mix that easily flows through the 1-inch by 1-inch fiberglass mesh grid. You can easily trowel the mix smooth and it will give you a high strength countertop quality product.

Scrim has always been a popular reinforcement in concrete countertops, but Concrete Countertop Solutions has upped the ante with their more durable alkali resistant FG50 fiberglass mesh. The tightly woven glass strands are combined to form a continuous 1-inch by 1-inch grid achieving much higher strength than conventional scrim.

In order to keep the fiberglass mesh at the appropriate height when using it as a reinforcement in cast-in-place countertops, the Z Clip comes in handy. Simply screw it down to your cement board substrate and clip the mesh into place. CCS designed the clip to hold the mesh at the optimal height when using Z Counterforms.

Along with their new system, Concrete Countertop Solutions is also releasing a Roman Ogee Edge profile to add to their existing six decorative edge profiles. Because of the large horizontal surface on the Ogee profile, it has been difficult in the past to pour such a profile without trapping too much air in the form. Now, thanks to the flowability of the Liqui-Crete mix, you can finally pour this profile without issues.
