WarmlyYours launches Power Modulator snow-melting systems

In an effort to help customers save money while handling more power than the average snow-melting control, WarmlyYours Radiant Heating introduced Power Modulator snow-melting electrical boxes and accessories. These systems allow customers to split large outdoor areas, such as driveways and walkways, into zones that can be managed sequentially.

“By splitting an area into zones, customers can opt to heat one zone at a time rather than upgrading their power supply,” explains WarmlyYours president and owner Julia Billen. “As a result, our customers can save money and determine how they would prefer to heat their space.”

Power Modulator electrical boxes are available in two versions: the Power Modulator 3, which has four contactors and operates between one and four zones; and the Power Modulator 5, which has five contactors and can operate up to five zones, depending on the sensors being used. With the Power Modulator 3, customers can use up to four zones for snow melting, or they can use three zones for snow melting and the fourth zone for roof and gutter deicing. With the Power Modulator 5, customers can use up to four zones for snow melting, or they can use four zones for snow melting and the fifth zone for roof and gutter deicing.

“Our Power Modulator systems are unique in that they have the ability to operate a roof and gutter project independently from a snow-melting project, yet all from the same controller,” Billen explains. “All you need is a gutter sensor to implement roof and gutter deicing.”

Both electrical boxes include an upper limit temperature sensor, which installs under the surface and measures the ground temperature. The boxes also integrate with Power Modulator Snow/Ice Aerial Sensors, which detect the snow outside. Wall-Mounting Brackets that mount to the home or a vertical pole and hold the aerial sensors also can be purchased to accommodate the system.

Additionally, Power Modulator electrical boxes reduce spending by offering a built-in ground fault sensor. This eliminates the need for a ground fault equipment protection breaker for every heating element, which adds significant cost to the project. Plus, the included upper limit temperature sensor saves energy.

Typical applications include driveways, sidewalks, loading docks, stairs and pavement, as well as roofs and gutters if a gutter sensor is used.
