Using Etching Gel to Clean Up Spilled Acid Stain

The spilled stain on the concrete floor.

T. F. Valdez Construction Supply Company, Inc was founded in 2003 by Tony and Mary Anne Valdez. Their goal was to create a construction supply firm that specialized in personal service and helping Arizona contractors solve problems like how to clean up spilled acid stain.

That goal has become a reality as Valdez Construction Supply continues to make a name for itself in the Phoenix construction industry as a resource to its customers, not just for product, but for solutions.

Here is a shot of the floor after the stain was spilled.

Shawn of T.F. Valdez Construction Supply Co. Inc. was stocking and organizing acid stains when a shelf collapsed. This collapse sent acid stains spilling over the store’s white polished concrete floor.

Mary Anne called Tamryn Doolan of Surface Gel Tek to explain the situation. Tamryn advised to neutralize the acid stains to minimize the damage and then use Tek Gel for Profiling to erase the stains.

A look at the floor after acid gel was used to clean the spilled stain.

Surface Gel Tek (SGT) is the manufacturer/patent holder of gelled acids used for cleaning, etching and profiling concrete. The initial focus behind this technology was to make acid safer for the environment as well as the end user.

Shawn simply rolled Tek Gel for Profiling across the stained area and immediately wet vacuumed it up. This process neutralized the gelled acid at the same time.

The unsightly spill has been removed with acid gel.
