GKV Architects win CIB Award of Merit

TEN23 Project in New York CityGerner Kronick + Valcarcel, Architects PC, a New York-based architecture firm, has been presented with an Award of Merit from the Concrete Industry Board for TEN23, a luxury residential complex adjacent to New York City’s High Line Park.

The recently completed project, developed by Equity Residential, is a striking 12-story residential tower with 111 luxury rental apartments. The property is adjacent to the High Line. The façade of TEN23 features translucent glass set within an ornamental cast-in-place concrete frame. It also features a playful pattern inspired by the number ten.

The Concrete Industry Board aims to foster the highest quality design and construction of concrete structures. They do this through education, exchange and debate. Additionally, the board dedicates itself to the practice of the highest professional ethical standards in all elements of the concrete construction industry. The CIB aims to distribute information provided by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), and other recognized applicable subject-related entities for design, construction and testing practices together with public codes and regulations which will foster quality plain and reinforced concrete.
