In Memory of Martin Ozinga III

Many of you personally knew industry luminary Martin Ozinga III. One can not overstate his impact on his family and community, as well as the ready mixed concrete industry.  As a family-owned company, the RMC Foundation has always held the Ozinga companies in the highest regard as independent colleagues in the concrete industry.  Marty helped grow and diversify his family company. He also grew and developed a wonderful family of next generation leaders to carry on his legacy.  He will truly be missed by many.

Upon learning of his recent passing, RMC reflected on Marty’s many contributions to his family, faith, community and industry. RMC wanted to do something to honor his memory.  Although he had many causes near and dear to his heart, as concrete colleagues we felt it most appropriate to make a contribution to the RMC Research & Education Foundation in Marty’s name.  Ozinga is a long-time major contributor to the Foundation. Additionally, Marty served as a Trustee of the Foundation, as well as a NRMCA Board member, for many years.

The foundation knows many of you both appreciated and respected Marty as RMC did. Thus, they wanted to alert the public to a memorial contribution. If any are interested in adding to it as an expression of your sympathy to the Ozinga family, the details are as follows. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Julie Garbini at [email protected] or 703-338-8647.  The Ozinga family will be notified of your tax-deductible gift in his name.

About Ozinga

Established in 1928 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, as a small coal and coke yard, Ozinga survived the Great Depression and World War II. It did all of this before becoming one of the first ready mix providers in the region. For four generations, Ozinga has continuously expanded both its product and service offerings to faithfully meet the needs of builders throughout Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and South Florida. This is all done while holding to its longstanding commitment to provide services and products at a fair price.
