Lafarge forges deal with Jamaica Pre-Mix

Lafarge today signed an agreement with Jamaica Pre-Mix Ltd. to create a new joint venture based in Kingston, Jamaica.

The joint venture will be called Jamaica Aggregates Ltd., and it will be owned and operated by both Lafarge and Jamaica Pre-Mix. Jamaica Pre-Mix will contribute its aggregate operations to the venture, while Lafarge contributes to development and operations. The joint venture will comprise four quarries and employ 60 to 70 employees who currently work at Jamaica Pre-Mix. This alliance is part of Lafarge’s efforts to maintain and expand its North American infrastructure to meet growing customer needs.
