New diamond blades offer many improvements

Multiquip Inc. has improved two series of diamond blades — the HSC combination blades and Side Winder wafer-style tuck points — that work with a variety of concrete and masonry cutting applications. The upgraded HSC combination blades boast increased core thickness, additional cooling holes and a new gullet configuration. These improvements increase the blade’s lifespan and make it less susceptible to damage from operator error. The HSC allows contractors to use one blade on jobs that previously required multiple blades. Available in diameters of 12 inches to 20 inches, the diamond blades cut concrete, asphalt, brick, block, pavers, soft stone, and roof tile. They can be used on high-speed cut-off saws, low-horsepower walk-behind saws and stationary masonry saws. The new Side Winder wafer-style tuck point series also improves on the originals. The blades eliminate segment loss from undercutting, boast superior grinding speeds and let users easily grind away damaged mortar. Side Winders are offered in two-blade and three-blade designs with 1⁄4-inch and 3⁄8-inch thicknesses, respectively. There are four grades of conventional tuck point blades in various bond harnesses and two grades of wafer-style tuck point blades.
