Polyaspartic coatings presentation steals the show at Polyurethane Technical Conference

In an award-winning presentation given at the recent 2015 Polyurethanes Technical Conference, Covestro scientists challenged building professionals and architects to discover the aesthetic benefits of polyaspartic technology for decorative flooring – and took home the Best Presentation Award for the Coatings and Sealants Technical Session.

The winning presentation, “Polyaspartic Floor Coatings: Industry Preferences, Developments, Application and Real-World Examples,” was given by Covestro Marketing Manager of Coatings – Construction Group and Sustainability Steven Reinstadtler, based on Reinstadtler’s technical article, which was co-authored by Covestro Application and Technology Development Manager of Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties Peg Kendi.

The presentation discussed trends and needs in industrial and decorative floor coatings, the basics behind the polyaspartic resin technology and the latest developments in low viscosity resins that reduce the need for solvents. Of the five presenters in the session, Reinstadtler’s presentation was recognized as the best in both technical merit and overall quality and effectiveness of information.

The 2015 Polyurethanes Technical Conference is hosted annually by the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for Polyurethanes Industry. This year’s conference took place in Orlando, Florida.
