TechFab’s C-GRID product line of carbon-fiber grids is specifically designed for the lightweight reinforcement of concrete in countertops as well as in a multitude of precast and prestressed concrete products.

C-GRID uses a carbon-fiber-reinforced, epoxy-resin-based grid design. It can be used in place of, or along with, steel wire mesh and light rebar. Unlike steel, carbon grid can be placed just below the finished surface. By contrast, several inches of concrete would be required to protect steel mesh from corrosion and to prevent rust stains from bleeding through to the finished surface.

The C-GRID reinforcements replace typical materials such as galvanized wire, wire mesh and light steel rebar. They provide excellent corrosion resistance, high strength to weight ratio, flexibility, and outstanding ductility and crack control. C-GRID can be used with as little as 1⁄4" concrete cover due to a lack of corrosion concerns. The grid design and epoxy chemistry provides excellent concrete-to-grid bonding.

Grids feature openings of 0.75 inches to 3.0 inches, depending on strength requirements and the application. The lightweight grid is available in rolls that simplify storage and that can be shipped via overnight carrier.
