American Society of Concrete Contractors to Hold 17th Annual Conference in Charlotte this September

The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, MO, will hold its seventeenth Annual Conference September 20-23, 2018 at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel, Charlotte, NC. Concrete contractors, manufacturers, designers and other industry professionals will gather for three days of educational events and networking.

Industry experts including Dr. Ken Hover, Cornell University; Anirban Basu, Sage Policy Group; Jon Belkowitz, Intelligent Concrete; and Chris Sullivan, ChemSystems, will offer seminars on critical industry topics. Seminar tracks include Tech, Business Management, Business Field Level, Decorative and Polished Concrete, and Safety.

Seminar topics include “Evaporation Retarders & Finishing Aids,” “Drones in Concrete Contracting,” “Surface – Create vs. Heart Crete: A Critical Difference,” “Concrete 101 for Polishers” and “Pain Management.”

Attendees can take advantage of the ACI Flatwork Finisher Certification and the ACI Decorative Concrete Flatwork Finisher Certification class and exam offered on September 20.

The Decorative Concrete and Concrete Polishing councils will install an architectural exposed finish hardscape at the hotel ballroom entrance. It will be a three part process: placement of specialty aggregates, and placement of polishable overlay on Friday, and exposed slab reveal and complete polishing process on Saturday morning.

Additional opportunities include a golf tournament, NASCAR Experience at Concord Raceway, Mint Museum Tour, and foraging with an executive chef.

The ASCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of those who build with concrete, and to providing them with a unified voice in the construction industry.
