Gary Jones, Colormaker Floors - When trying to come up with designs, “Don’t be afraid to look at artwork and transfer that design onto a floor,”Jones often tries to imitate the work of Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), a Russian-born artist and accomplished musician who many refer to as the father of abstract art. Kandinsky asserted that color and musical harmony had an intrinsic relationship, even claiming that when he saw color he heard music. During his career, his art forms evolved from fluid and organic to geometric and, finally, to pictographic.
