New Bosch BS 150 + GLL3-80 Kit option offers complete leveling system

Bosch Measuring Tools introduced the BS 150 Compact Tripod combined with an optional kit that includes the GLL3-80 360-degree 3-Plane Leveling and Alignment Line Laser to offer professionals a complete leveling solution. When the GLL3-80 is paired with the new BS 150 compact tripod, workers can easily adjust the height of the tool with fine adjustment capability to ensure greater accuracy and quick set up.

The BS 150 features collapsible legs and weighs a total of two pounds for easy storage and transportation. The new compact tripod has a 1/4-inch to 20 inch thread that is compatible with most line lasers, point lasers and laser measures making it one of the most versatile tools in a professional’s arsenal. The BS 150 includes a detachable mounting base that enables easy and quick set up of product on or off the tripod. Swivel, adjust and tighten the steady adjustable aiming base for steady measurement applications. It features an extendable height of up to 58 inches with a reliable quick clamping system.

The GLL3-80 utilizes Bosch Cone Mirror Technology rather than rotating diodes to project bright laser “chalk lines” in 360 degrees. By reducing the number of moving parts, Bosch is able to produce a laser layout tool that is more compact, lighter, easier to calibrate and simpler to use than a traditional rotary laser.

The GLL3-80 has the potential to replace up to four lasers – a 6-point, tile, cross-line and rotary laser (depending on distance required) – for the majority of level, align, plumb and square applications. By providing six cross reference points and self-leveling lines in 360 degrees, the GLL3-80 makes level, align, square and plumb applications a breeze for cabinet installers, finish carpenters, remodelers, electricians and others. Unlike traditional cross line lasers, the GLL3-80 allows the operator to position the unit over one reference mark and provide two, 90-degree layout lines from one setup point. Because the GLL3-80 projects in three axis planes simultaneously and the tool can be quickly switched between triple axis plane, vertical-only and horizontal-only modes, the user can complete an entire room from a single setup point.

Bosch’s Smart Pendulum Leveling System quickly levels the unit for use and alerts the user with both blinking lines and an audible alarm if an out-of-level situation occurs. Once leveled, the GLL3-80 is accurate to within 1/4 inch over its 100-foot range (in normal mode). A secure transport lock protects the pendulum when the unit is switched off. For added versatility, the GLL3-80 can be mounted in multiple ways – to a standard tripod (5/8-inch to 11 inch thread) or a compact tripod (1/4-inch to 20 inch thread).

For long distance (up to 265 feet) applications, the GLL3-80 can be used in pulse-laser receiver mode in conjunction with the optional LR2 laser receiver with bracket. Single-button operation and a compact design make setup, operation and storage simple, regardless of application.

As with all Bosch products for pro users, durability is important. In addition to the secure transport lock to protect the pendulum, Bosch has built the GLL3-80 to meet rigorous IP54 standards for water and dust protection. The easy-to-grip rubber housing further protects the GLL3-80 from jobsite drops and abuse. This ensures precise and reliable service over the lifespan of the tool.

The BS 150 + GLL3-80 comes complete with the GLL3-80 laser, BS 150 compact tripod, a laser carrying pouch, target, an instruction manual and four AA batteries. The stand-alone BS 150 comes with the BS 150 and instruction manual. The stand-alone GLL3-80 comes with the GLL3-80, WM1 Positioning Device, hard carrying case, target, an instruction manual and four AA batteries.
