Smooth-On has introduced its Mold Max 14NV, a “no vacuum” tin-cured silicone rubber.
Most high-tear tin-cure silicones require vacuuming the material to minimize air bubbles, a process that can be cost- prohibitive. Smooth-On’s Mold Max 14NV is a high-tear strength tin-catalyzed silicone rubber that does not require vacuum degassing. It is measured 100A:10B by weight.
Mold Max 14NV offers a pot life of 45 minutes, and cure time is just four hours at room temperature.
