Steven Ochs, who holds a master’s of fine art degree and is a professor of art and chair of the department of art and design at Southern Arkansas University, shared these photos of his latest project.

He says his client wanted the red logo of the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, which is a popular decorative choice in Arkansas. But Ochs says he was able to encourage his client to instead go with an original design made up of several photos Ochs had taken of wild boars. These photos were merged with the state’s mascot for a unique yet recognizeable custom image.

The lines are scored and the background was chiseled out with a rotary hammer.

The photo of the letter “S” on the front porch does not show the actual contrast in the design. Ochs says it is stained with a metallic bronze so it really flashes against the transparent background.
