Dur-A-Flex grows business development group

Pete Shields, Dur-A-FlexDur-A-Flex Inc., a leading manufacturer of commercial, industrial and institutional resinous floor systems, has appointed Peter J. Shields as Business Development Manager, Northeast.

Shields brings to Dur-A-Flex Inc. a wealth of knowledge of the flooring industry as well as "boots on the ground" experience. He spent 14 years as Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Valspar Corp., where he was responsible for key accounts as well as developing new applicators through a certification program. Most recently he served as Contract Manager for an East Coast flooring contractor. He focused on growing the company’s presence within the food processing and pharmaceutical industries and managed installation resources for large-scale projects.

“Pete’s technical knowledge comes from years in the field – understanding what end users are looking for in flooring and understanding the best application for each facility. This experience is what will make him a valuable resource to the architectural community within his region – which is exactly what we strive to be,” says John Conway, Director of Business Development.

Dur-A-Flex’s fast growing business development group has spent considerable energy focusing on introducing Dur-A-Flex’s extensive toolbox of floor and wall solutions to architects across the country. Shields will take the lead of the group’s Northeast division, growing Dur-A-Flex’s architectural reach even further within the region.

Since its inception, Dur-A-Flex’s Business Development Group has doubled its growth while focusing on strengthening partnerships within the architectural channel and strategic accounts as well as supporting the Dur-A-Flex Sales team in securing large-scale flooring projects across the nation.
