Eiffel Trading Company launches redesigned buying and selling platform

Eiffel Trading Company, the world’s first centralized site for buying and selling used heavy equipment and construction materials, has unveiled its revamped online marketplace. The new Eiffel Trading Company site will allow contractors nationwide to list their used, heavy civil, marine and oilfield equipment and materials free of charge and non-exclusively.

The Eiffel Trading Company marketplace update will also allow contractors looking to buy used equipment and materials to easily search by location, price and equipment or material type. Eiffel Trading Company was developed when co-founder Andrew Norman became fed up with the limited options available to contractors needing to buy or sell both used equipment and used materials.

With more than two decades of combined experience in the construction industry, Norman and his partners knew how difficult it was for contractors to find buyers for their highly specialized used or surplus materials upon completion of a project, leading many to simply send materials like steel beams and piling to the scrap yard. At the same time, contractors in the heavy civil, marine and oilfield industries were limited to selling their used equipment for pennies on the dollar at auction.

Norman and his partners realized there had to be a better way for buyers and sellers of used construction equipment and materials to connect. They hit upon a high-tech solution to the distinctly low-tech problem: All that was needed was a centralized, one-stop online marketplace where contractors could buy and sell easily, for fair prices, without sellers having to give up so much of their profit to high broker commissions. Eiffel Trading Company was born.

"There are so many efficiencies that can be created for our industry using technology," said Norman. "Our goal is to become an indispensable tool for our customers in the procurement and project close-out stages."

Eiffel Trading Company allows contractors to list a wide variety of used construction equipment and materials. Recent listings include used surplus spiral-weld steel pipe in North Dakota, used Flexifloat S-50 sectional barges in Oregon and truckloads of used AZ-18 sheet piling in Ohio.

The Eiffel Trading Company concept of a centralized construction marketplace has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from contractors. With growth in demand, the company is rapidly expanding. Part of the appeal to the construction industry is Eiffel Trading Company’s dedication to service: An Eiffel Trading representative facilitates every transaction, making it simple and hassle-free to sell even large lots of materials or highly specialized equipment. Brokers are always welcome to list at Eiffel Trading Company as well, and all listing rights remain with the equipment owner or broker. Should a listed product be sold elsewhere, there is no fee or commission due to Eiffel Trading Company.

"Eiffel Trading Company is really the result of talking to a lot of contractors to find out what would make their lives easier and their businesses more profitable," said Norman. "Our new Web site is just an extension of that. We will continue to listen to our clients and our industry to ensure we’re always offering the best service possible."

Construction contractors and construction equipment brokers are invited to take the newly redesigned Eiffel Trading Company for a spin. It is always free to list used construction equipment and materials on the site.
