Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Announces New Board Members for 2024

CRSIThe Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) announces the appointment of Brad Cottrell as Chairman of the Board, along with five new officers, to steward the Institute.

Mr. Cottrell has been with CMC for over 27 years in total, having spent time originally in CMC’s trading division, but for the past 18 years in various roles in CMC’s rebar fabrication and mills segments and currently serves as CMC’s Vice President – Commercial & Supply Chain at CMC located in Irving, TX.

”I am looking forward to serving CRSI in the role of Chairman and especially look forward to celebrating our 100 year anniversary next year. It’s quite an accomplishment for any organization to reach that milestone and I’m proud of the work that CRSI does to promote the use of steel reinforced concrete.”

In addition to Cottrell’s appointment, new officers on CRSI’s Board include Juan Anaya (Cascade Steel Rolling Mill), Rob Dailey (CMC), Erik Johnson (Nucor), Ronnie Johnson (Nucor), and Scott McCornack (Morse Steel) as At-Large Directors, and Mary Alwin (Nucor Harris Rebar) as the new Chairman of the CRSI Foundation in a Non-Voting Director role.

CRSI would graciously thanks Don Barney (Nucor), Kevin Cornell (Salit Specialty Rebar), Layne Jones (CMC), Dean Peery (Gerdau), and Marty Lancial (CMC) who will be rotating off the Board for their service to the Institute, Foundation, and the industry.

The full Board of Directors was approved at the Business Meeting held during CRSI’s Fall Business & Technical Meeting on November 15th, 2023 at the Pendry Chicago. The 2023/2024 Board consists of:
