Switzerland-based Proceq has introduced the Hygropin moisture meter for concrete. Its small and fast sensor makes diagnosing moisture according to ASTM standards quick and easy. The ASTM test procedure requires placing a measuring sleeve at a specific, well-defined depth in the concrete. After moisture equilibrium is achieved, the relative humidity can be measured easily inside the sleeve. The in situ probe of the Hygropin is specially designed for this application. Its small size minimizes damage to the surface and reduces installation efforts. Besides the dry application, the Hygropin also offers an installation solution for fresh concrete that avoids drilling and allows tracking of relative humidity during the curing process. In addition, Proceq is also offering an ambient probe to simplify capturing environmental parameters.
