Three more men joined the ranks of the prestigious Decorative Concrete Hall of Fame established in 2010 by Professional Trade Publications, parent company of Concrete Decormagazine. Chris Sullivan and Michael Murray will be inducted and presented plaques.
The Decorative Concrete Hall of Fame is pleased to honor its inductees for 2015: Michael Murray and Chris Sullivan, and a posthumous induction for Michael Eastergard. The Hall of Fame will announce the group at the 2015 Concrete Decor Show.
The Concrete Decor Show held a Brawl in the Fall competition where seven preselected teams of decorative concrete professionals vied for a chance to win their part of $10,000 in cash and prizes, with the first-place team netting booty worth $5,000.
About 20 people gathered together Sept. 27-30 in Manchester, California, a town about three hours north of San Francisco, for the third annual Mendo Mini Campout and Boat Build.
Come Nov. 28-30, Concrete Decor LIVE! will makes its debut at The Buildings Show in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Ontario to showcase the durability and innovations of decorative and architectural concrete. A combination of five shows in one, The Buildings Show is North America’s largest annual exposition, networking and educational event for design, architecture, construction and real estate.
Located in the Silver Lot, in front of the South Hall, the third annual Decorative Concrete LIVE! will showcase the power of concrete through innovative construction applications Jan. 22-25 at World of Concrete 2019 in Las Vegas.
Some 5,000 visitors shopped this year’s Decorative Concrete LIVE! exhibit to check out the latest and greatest ways to use concrete to beautify horizontal and vertical surfaces for a variety of retail facilities.
The numbers were up for World of Concrete 2016, although not in the temperature department, as nearly 1,550 exhibitors displayed their wares Feb. 2-5 in the expansive Las Vegas Convention Center. Occupying more than 740,000 square feet in three halls and spilling out into the surrounding parking lots.
In this world, there are two types of concrete: concrete that’s flat, gray and utilitarian, and concrete that’s been shaped, colored and/or textured — and is considered art.
The resort was buzzing with people talking about the improvements that were transforming the grounds and some of the facilities on the resort. From pools and walkways to countertops and floors, projects were conducted by seasoned professionals and completed by novices and decorative concrete veterans alike.
